Material Characterization Group

The Materials Characterization Lab is a broad spectrum diagnostic facility. It offers researchers access to a wide-range of characterization instruments, expertise and services. The vision and goal of AMCL is to embrace and support a multi disciplinary base for researchers. The AMCL facilities are open to the researchers, faculty and students from the universities, research and development organizations, and local industries.

• RAMAN/ PL/ EL Spectroscopy
• Scanning Probe Microscope (SPM)/ Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)
• Ellipsometer
• UV-VIS spectrophotometer

Recent activities

• Optical characterization of thin films and diagnostics of biological and other materials.
• Characterization of quantum devices such as Gallium Nitride based LEDs, metal and semiconductor nanoparticles, polymer nanofibers etc.
